Happy Thanksgiving! While I enjoy the embrace of loved ones and all the wonderful turkey and trimmings on this holiday, I also want to put out there how thankful I personally am for all the doers that are doing good things in the world. I think this is an important opportunity to remember and celebrate those that are working hard to make the world a better place.

Now that the A to Z of Business blog has finished, I have been looking for a theme to start a new blog series— and yesterday I found it! I opened the 100th anniversary issue of Forbes and found myself loving the retro aspects of the cover design, especially the tag line, “Devoted to Doers and Doings.” When I think of how thankful I am to be around people that are “doers,” it started to resonate with me. I knew I had found the idea for my new blog series.

As I read, the magazine’s content started inspiring me even more and I got really fired up. It started feeling really good. I reflected in real-time on how fortunate I am––as it turns out, this very night I will have the honor of having a fireside chat with the global teams who are competing for a $100,000 reward in Innovation in Climate Change Remediation from the Biomimicry Institute. I wondered how many of them will one day be on the cover of Forbes. What a great opportunity this new blog series could be, to be thankful for and celebrate all those doers who are doing their thing today and making the world a better place.

I started thinking about all the doers that I have the unbelievable good fortune to meet with on a regular basis. Oh, my! How lucky can I be?! Maybe, (humbly speaking) like the editors at Forbes thought in 1917, I need to do what I can to make sure the impact of these doers inspires more and more people.

Although my blog seems insignificant compared to the reach of Forbes, maybe it will inspire one more “doer,” and that doer could possibly solve some of our biggest issues and problems.

It is so nice to be able to take a moment to share with you how thankful I am today and everyday. Thankful to have this moment to write and share my thoughts and insights with you. So thankful for everyone that inspires me and excites me. Grateful for all those I get the honor of meeting and discussing life and all its crazy wonderfulness with each day.

So let’s press on and be “Devoted to Doers and Doings.” Thanks for all that you “doers” DO—

Onward and upward––
